David Jason: My Life On Screen - Gold Documentary - British Comedy Guide
August 26, at pm. The death of his first partner. I'd have liked more on his time with Ronnie Barker. David Jason's biography is one I know after just finishing it,that I will want to listen to again. A lovely book of one of our most loved actors who many of us grew up with on the TV. Had me laughing when mentioned had nailed leonard's shoes to the floor as a joke in the dressing room and moved at many parts especially hearing the poetry from the first 'guvner' Ronnie Barker, before he was given the same fond title when Ronnie retired.
Won't say anymore as don't want to spoil it for you.
A must listen. Is there anything you would change about this book? The accent of the narrator. Would you be willing to try another book from David Jason? Why or why not? No not really this was a little boring. What did you like about the performance?
What did you dislike? The cockney accent in long stints can be unbearable. If this book were a film would you go see it? No chance. It was really interesting to hear from David Jason's child hood but I felt there were large parts of the adult portion of his life were either missed out or he fixated on the boarding parts. This is a class apart a wonderful tale full of incident and acclaim and wonderful characters most of whom we loved.
Really interesting life story.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has an interest in Only Fools and Horses or any other David Jason project. Funny, Grounded, Real. What was one of the most memorable moments of David Jason: My Life? I loved the whole book, but I thought the opening situation 'diving' and his thoughts around life etc. Which scene did you most enjoy? All were good, but particularly the first one. Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry? Both, I laughed more than I cried, but there were tears. Absolutely loved it and narrated beautifully. Sir David Jason you are a legend.
Thank you. This is a very charming read worthy of the actor shame the author didn't voice it. Very entertaining from start to finish I didn't want it to end. From the early days where you get to know David until the end when he is so recognisable. Your audiobook is waiting…. David Jason: My Life. By: David Jason.

Tara Daves Dallas, TX Thoroughly enjoyable A well-written, witty, and touching memoir, "My Life" - the title's blandness notwithstanding - enjoyably captures the small and big moments that made one of my favorite actors. Patricia Superb Such a good book to listen to hear the life story of such a talented man.
